Lodhi’s grew up listening to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan in his house and learning about the musical tradition of Sufis. Similar to how Sufis use qawaali’s to talk about their life experiences and share those lessons with others Lodhi began writing poetry about his experience growing up in Bahawalpur.

Eventually Lodhi began thinking about how others can listen to his poetry and drew inspiration from the likes of Tupac, Nas and Rakim. He began studying rap and hip hop and listening the greats and those that are continuing to improvise the genre. One such figure is Bohemia for introducing hip hop with Punjabi lyrics. However Lodhi wants to pave his own way and create his own personal style that draws from his past and present inspiration.

Living in UK has introduced him to the current underground Grime scene. Lodhi is working on cultivating a taste of that in some of his upcoming music.
Currently he is working on a couple of projects with BCL Blade/Ghauri and Sound Shikari. He won’t give too many details but there will definitely be a Sabaq.
