Exclusive Interview with 'Lawless Ben'

Q: First of all we want to say welcome to you.
Thank you for having me.

Q: How did you come into the music industry?
Music has always been something I’ve been passionate about since I was a kid. I wrote and performed my first song at the age of nine and fell in love with the process and creative expression that comes with it. Fast forward to today, I’m still producing music daily and have released over 11 projects and 2 albums. Music has always been a passion of mine and being able to create something that can reach somebody on a deeper level and possibly change their lives is amazing to me.

Q: Who was your inspiration for music?
Growing up I listened to a vast majority of music/artists. I love it all, but some of my main influences are J Cole, Kedrick Lamar, King Koopa , Run the Jewels, The Cool Kids, Bryson Tiller, William Singe, and Ryan Leslie.

Q: What is the name of your debut song?
My debuted song “Fully Focused”, off my “Gossip” mixtape, was released in 2011 on Datpiff and was featured on the homepage the day of its release. The song accumulated over 35,000 plays and 5,000 downloads, which was one of the major stepping stones in my career.

Q: Say something about your musical journey?
Honestly, you couldn’t have used a better word. My “Journey” is exactly that. It’s been a long tedious one, but in all honesty, I wouldn’t change a thing even if I could. Being able to do what I love and continue to grow throughout the process has been something that I cherish. I know exactly what I want and over the years of trial and error, I’ve learned to use what I’ve gained and picked up over time to really take things to another level. I’m passionate and hungry. With the support of my family, friends and ThirdHouse team it’s only a matter of time before the ThirdHouse name is known worldwide.

Q: Who helped you most in your journey?
Since day one, my closest family and friends have always been there to support me. I couldn’t have done it with out them or my ThirdHouse Team (Skill Ryme, Sleeze and LT). Another person who has been there for me along the way is my girlfriend, Lorena. I would also like to give a special thank you to My mother Lisa, My little big bro Tony Marquez and Waldo Perez for always believing in my vision. (P.s I haven’t forgot about the Limo ride Waldo haha I got you!)

Q: Who gave you pieces of advice?
The best advice I ever received was from my better half and it’s something that resonates with me daily, which is “You can’t do the same thing and get different results”.

Q: What do you do now a days?
Today I am actively doing live shows at least 2x a week, working on new content daily for my official website (www.lawlessben.com) and continuing to release music regularly.

Q: Let us know something about your future projects
My new single “O.K” , which was produced by Billboard charting producer Zach Burke, will be available 03.19.21 and the follow up record, “Get To Me”, will be released 04.09.21.

Q: What is your message to your fans?
You all are appreciated so much and even though I do not know most of you personally, I still consider you as apart of my team. The continued support has helped me to strive, push forward and to keep working no matter what the circumstances are. All the amazing feedback you give me keeps me inspired and in the studio everyday. I love every single one of you!

Q: Any message for new artist?
Opinions never paid bills and if you don’t believe in yourself no one ever will. This goes for everybody and not just artists, but for anyone who is trying to achieve something in life. My message it to go for it! Take that leap, take that step, put that application in or make that move. You can make anything happen if you work hard enough. Don’t ever quit!
