KARACHI: Renowned Qawwal Amjad Sabri has been killed along with another by unknown gunned men firing on Wednesday.
According to details, assailants have attacked Qawwal Amjad Sabri’s car. His car driver has also died on the spot who has not been identified yet.
Police and Rescue teams were reached on the spot and cordoned off the area. It is learnt that the Qawwal was shot from a point blank range.
Amjad Sabri was a Sufi Qawwal. He performed across the world.
The latest incident of Sabri’s killing could again raise effectiveness of the law enforcers in Karachi.
The Karachi commissioner has said that death of Amjad Sabri is a sad incident for all. He said that killers of Amjad Sabri will be arrested soon.
He said that Police and Rangers teams are conducting raids while all roads have been closed.
Initial details of the attack suggest that four unidentified motorcyclists opened fire at his car.
Reportedly, two bullets fatally injured Sabri with one penetrating the face and other his chest. The attack took place in Liaquatabad area of the city.
Sindh Home Minister Suhail Anwar Sial has taken notice of Sabri’s killing and has ordered report of the incident from Sindh Inspector General Police (IGP) AD Khawaja.
Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has also taken notice of the incident and ordered to submit report regarding attack on Sabri,
